Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen won the men’s 1500m final at Tokyo 2020 and set an Olympic record as Kenya’s Timothy Cheruiyot took silver and Great Britain’s Josh Kerr bronze.
Norway’s Jakob Ingebrigtsen has had a dream start to his Olympic career by beating world champion Timothy Cheruiyot and setting a new record to win the men’s 1500m at Tokyo 2020.
At just 20, the European Champion is now the second youngest winner of the event. He had set a blistering pace from the start and held on to the lead for the first lap before Kenya’s Cheruiyot overtook him at the Olympic Stadium. But he stayed close on his heels and on the third bend of the closing lap he made his move and overtook the 25-year-old and crossed the line in 3:28.32 to set a new Olympic record. Cheruiyot took silver in 3:29.01.

Race lover like kare…
Such an incredible race… Had to re-watch it after Inderbrigtsen set new world record in Zurich
Can’t even get rid of the stupid masks and show their proud faces to the world. Those masks don’t even do anything.
the guy from england made up a lot of distance in the last 100m… almost came second! great run cunningham!
only two Africans in the finale
this race should be on top icon for mid distance running
It is not about he has time to look back but it is about losing time by looking back.
How come there are so few Africans in this race/distance? Usually they are dominating in running.
Kenya Big Bulge
Who knows if Jakob has planned to go on 10.000m one day ? Because I'm sure he will be a master class killer on this distance…
I think 6 of them broke the Olympic record
No of whites is increasing surprisingly….
that voice break though at the end of race hahaha
Who is this commentator ?
Unfortunate voicebreak
