“I started to realize that I would want to advance my degree when I started working in the trauma facility I’m at now. I’ve noticed that the PAs aren’t always informed on what’s going on, because we don’t have any type of leadership role throughout the hospital.”

A practicing Physician Assistant and current doctoral student of A.T. Still’s DMSc program for PAs, Franchesca reveals how she felt the need to advance her education and earn a Doctor of Medical Science degree because she was looking to enhance her role as a leader within the PA profession.

Working in a surgical trauma facility, Franchesca appreciates A.T. Still’s training in whole person healthcare with a focus on understanding the patient and treating them as an individual and with empathy, a skill she finds is often lacking in the medical profession.
