Good tips but 1,800 calories a day may not be enough for some, and even though breastfeeding burns 500 calories a day, you also have to replace the calories you lose to keep your milk supply up. So, that means you must eat an extra 500 calories as well.

Also, losing too fast (more than 2lb per week) can cause toxins to leech into your milk supply from fat stores. Pesticides and other chemicals are stored there and you don't want baby getting concentrated doses of that.

Main thing is to eat healthier and eat smaller, more frequent meals; drink plenty of water, get rest, de stress, and exercise.

Enjoy your breastfeeding journey. It may not last much past 1 year and then you can really work on weight loss. Your baby will only be a baby for 1 year!
