My name is Etienne Crete (from Montreal, Canada). I’m a swing Forex trader and help aspiring Forex traders develop a trading method that works for them so they can produce income allowing them to live with more freedom.

I blog at and host the Desire To Trade Podcast. I was fed up with the “fake” millionaire traders and the “get-rich-quick-trading guys”. That’s why you can expect more free content from me than what other people charge for!

If you truly want to succeed in Forex trading, I believe you need to keep working on yourself so you can improve your strengths, but also your weaknesses. Do not focus solely on what you’re good at.

This video expresses my personal opinion only. Forex trading is risky. Make sure you are ready to trade. Even this will not guarantee you positive results. I am not responsible for any losses incurred due to your trading or anything else. I do not recommend any specific trade or action.

Thank you for trusting me with my truthful and reliable opinion on any future purchase you may make. I always disclose this information when it is the case. As part of the Desire To TRADE family, you allow me to be able to use affiliate/referral links when suggesting items for purchase. As a customer of the products I refer, you help me sustain the time and resources to create content on this channel by generating revenue from your sales. This doesn’t affect you in any way in the checkout process (I’m sometimes even able to arrange a discount for you that is special from other customers).

I am considering getting the MacBook Air 2018 and running windows and parallels from a Samsung T5 ssd drive.

Rhoni Hazelwood says:

was is OANDA's leverage ratio for the Canadian site?

Can i use macbook pro 2012(upgraded), i'm just asking if it is can be use?

@3.51 I thinks it's good to Run the software on a windows computer back at home and then use Team Viewer on Ipad or MacPro to access the software . It will be easy thing. But on the other hand have you experienced your Computer shutdown due to power supply problem or heat issues.

Adnan Khan says:

i would like to buy a MacBook air for trading. should I ???

Charles Almeida says:

Hey buddy! You mentioned that you are trading with OANDA. Since I'm here in Canada now I'm considering opening an account with them. But I'm kinda concerned because they are a market maker … and I've seen a lot of stuff criticising this kind of broker. However, to be honest, I couldn't understand what the real difference is between a market maker and a ECN .. and also I couldn't understand how a market maker could be so harmful and keep succeeding in the market … Not sure but I think it's just a myth the people tell on internet .. What's your impression of trading with OANDA ? Have you had any problem ? Have you traded with another broker here in Canada ?

Seafox0011 says:

For my Mac setup I use Crossover with multiple broker builds of MT4. Works a treat I can have each version of MT4 running at the same time in is own mac window. I also have Parallels installed but it takes up a full 60 gigs of disc space running s full version on Windows – I don’t use it to run MT4 but other Windows only apps.

Mavrick says:

Go for a vps if you travel a lot and want to use EA's.. See if oanda will provide you one free if not go for azure or aws(you can choose the DC you like) Otherwise run windows as a VM on your mac not preferred but works. My 2 cents worth..

coskund4 says:

Love Canada, beautiful country.

What is the music in the beginning

King Shavers says:

Mac is no good to trade on, maybe for short term stuff but a professional trader should never trade with a Mac because you are very limited IMO.

Soon Chong Lai says:

Hi Eitienne, I have exact same setup with you and I code most of the indicator I used for my trading. One note of the VPS, you need to ensure it have unlimited bandwidth and I prefer to have generic could computing for that purpose. Tried the Mac & Linux Version on MT4 and they aren't great because often it will cause your mac not going to sleep properly. Alternative for Parallel is Oracle Virtualbox which is free but performance is abit lacking compared to parallel.

Oswald Oogink says:

To my understanding there is a mt4 or mt5 support to run on linux.. so why not on the Macbooks?
