Karen Foo. Karen, I trade manually. This is how my grandfather trades. He always wins. He trades with a pin and paper. God it's hard to master trading like that. One day I hope I can get to that point.

Sumaiya says:

Backtesting was such a HARD WORK for me as I did it manually, thank God I eventually passed this phase with a clear proven system

here's how I did it:

– 1st: this was the hardest, I documented 3 months of most traded forex pairs (majors & minors), I documented every little detail you could think of in a single losing and winning trade, such as the date, day of week, triggering hour, timeframe, news of the day and previous day, sentiment, pattern, type of pattern, pair caricaturistic, the strength of the trend in all timeframes, winning/losing scenario, chart condition, strength/weakness of the base and quote currency from the last 7 days, what happened after hitting SL or TP level, 1st/2nd attempt?, I even took a screenshot of the trade in the same timeframe and higher, and MUCH MORE, I did all of this in a google sheet.

– 2nd: after that, I spend my time searching for the most COMMON thing(s) in the winning and losing trades.

– 3rd: here I backtested 12 months of those same pairs, using the data I had but this time without watching the results to test my trading skills and decision-making process. I passed the test 😀

I came out with a trading system that works pretty well on Thursdays, with a 60% win rate and an expectancy of 60% positive.

it was worth the hard work.
