I study and hate design, that's all.
I like the general idea of the Deadbeat logo. there is a way to improve the logo by making the sound wave expand a little further out to really implicate "music" or in this case the "beat". there is a distinctive difference between a heartbeat and sound waves. You can combine the 2 and have the sound wave slowly turn into a dead heartbeat? Just a thought. Also, I'm guessing the dot is a moon? so the moon could be larger, and make the "cracks" on the tombstone thinner. The way it is, as of now, looks like an egg. lol. Otherwise great work. Push past your limits!

I've been designing since 7th grade and self taught myself. Once you get down the basics of designing, it's easy. Also that and I'm not even going to college for design, I'm going to college for Game Design which at least hopefully 7 years worth of Graphic designing will help that a bit. But also very nice and clean designs Sean! Keep up the great work! One thing that helped me most on designing was that I would find small teams (Gaming/ eSports teams) and create something for them that goes along with what they want.

Let me tell you a little secret about graphic designers — most of us are self taught. There's nothing particularly special about this kid's 30 day logo challenge, most of these ideas are fairly average.
Cool story, inspiring! That ending music seemed unnecessarily ominous though. Seemed like it didn't have a happy ending because of the tone.
First things first. Congratulations to this guy. However I know for certain their are many more excelled designers out their and no one realises it or sees it. They find one guy like this one here and go OMG he can open Adobe Illustrator. http://www.mindofalfie.co.uk 17 also.
