In Australia, the move to legalise cannabis has gained momentum, thanks largely to the tenacity of Tamworth couple Lucy and Lou Haslam, who believed the benefits medicinal cannabis had on their dying son needed to be shared with the broader community. They were the driving force in co-ordinating an international symposium on medicinal cannabis, which helped shift the conversation from “if” to “when” cannabis would be legalised.

For those who have had joint replacements and reconstructions, the oil is just magic for pain reduction. Give it a try. Indeed the healing and pain reduction from any type of surgery would probably be beneficial for the patient.

OMG is Professor Ingrid Scheffer for real? Where are the double-blind clinical studies which prove that radiation and chemotherapy work? I'd be happy for the research to be done on cannabis but I doubt if it would ever be published in this country. Give it to the kids. There have been no deaths associated with it as far as I know – but there have been heaps of deaths with chemo. I want to see the percentage of success with The Oil as opposed to Big Pharma's overpriced crap. Bring it on!!

Drew Jones says:

To deny this to people who take it for medical reasons is a crime against humanity. If anyone (company or political group) is later found out that they have been keeping this illegal due to big business interests, should be locked up.

SkylineToTheSeaAndMe says:

There is a misnomer in this documentary and almost all others on the subject of Medical Cannabis, and the subject of Cannabis use in general:  Most recreational users are not simply stoners, and should not be treated as such. Most people who use Cannabis, find it beneficial medically in some way, in the sense that it relaxes them, minimizes the stress of daily life, or the problems of career, marriage/family, traumatic events in life (PTSD), loss of a loved one, pet, girlfriend, job, home, car, of other stressful or traumatic event in life. Cannabis helps people to cope with and forget these stresses, -even if only for a few hours or days. To be sure, there are people who use it primarily as simply a recreational drug like tobacco, alcohol, etc. and possibly more than they should. It is also true that as with anything in life, moderation is key. If there is one exception however to this fact, and one drug/ herb/ or natural plant that is always therapeutic in so many different ways (despite it's possible overuse), -it is Cannabis. The fact that the U.S. government (and other U.S. institutions) funded Dr. Raphael Mechoulam's work is simply mindblowing. Why? Because the evidence shows, that the many health regulatory agencies/bodies in the U.S. government, are aware of the medical benefits of Cannabis, and are yet still withholding it in Collusion with the Pharmaceutical industry (and other special interests); And not only withholding it, but in many cases preventing useful research from being carried out. There is one country in the world, where the decriminalization of drugs has worked very well and to it's benefit: Portugal. The rest of the world ought to take a serious look at how well it has worked in Portugal.
