As I stepped onto my plane that would take me to my summer adventure on the Caribbean Marine Biology Voyage, I expected that I would get to experience the world of Marine Biology that I have always loved. What I didn’t expect, however, was that I would also be gaining a family. At school, it is easy to feel alone in your interests or passions- This trip allowed me to meet people who are just as passionate about the same things that I am. We were all able to go through the experience together of exploring, embracing, and gaining a new appreciation for the marine environment, all while having a great time and a good laugh! Summer 2014 with Broadreach taught me not only how incredible nature can be, but how incredible people can be, as well.
