The threat of Nuclear war haunted me when I was young in the 70s and 80s. I remember having the Bomb Dream when I would see the Mushroom cloud and was away from my family stuck at school.
At least in our world now States are not currently squaring off against each other even if Crazy terrorist groups continue to try to acquire the same nightmare weapons.
MAD worked but it was a hell of a gamble.
MAD won't work with religious fanatics.
We need to find a new peace somehow or it all ends.
