Patient exposures to flu last year were higher with vaccinated staff versus mask-wearing, non-vaccinated staff. Take home message–patients at greater risk for flu exposure when encountering a vaccinated employee.

You'll not achieve more than 50% vax rate without mandating HCWs get the flu vax or wear a mask. Before you force your HCWs to make the choice consider this. Post the results of one or more US hospital(s) that performed a retrospective, cohort study looking at relative risk of HCWs–in hospitals mandating get flu vax or wear the mask, that achieved >90% compliance with vaccination rate–calling in sick due to illness (or specifically, influenza) in the masked/non-vaccinated cohort v. non-masked/vaccinated cohort during last year's flu season (or the year before). This helps cuts through all the rhetoric about the flu shot's efficacy, retrospectively only, and your credibility.

I was offered a flu jab today and wasn't sure if I should get one – now I've seen this I'm almost certainly going to refuse.
It was fun making it. The message is very important and we are lucky to be able to get this free at work, at a time to suit us. The last time I had flu was 1994 and they weren't doing it then.
