WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT EVER GO TO A GAME GAME COLLEGE SUCH AS FULL SAIL.
GO TO A TRADITIONAL UNIVERSITY SUCH AS HARVARD IF AMERICAN OR CAMBRIDGE IF ENGLISH AND GET A DEGREE IN COMPUTER SCIENCE. YOU WILL PIGEON-HOLE YOURSELF INTO AN INDUSTRY OF 80 HOUR WORK WEEKS WITH LOW SALARIES. COMPUTER SCIENCE GRADUATES ARE VALUED MORE, THERE KNOWLEDGE IF TIMELESS AND THEY CAN WORK FOR GOOGLE OR SOMETHING ELSE WHEN THEY GET TIRED OF GAMES.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We sell games to people. Certain portion of the market use macs, hence if you want to sell your game to that portion of the market, you use mac. I HATE mac, it's overprived, underpowered and I will never ever will use one, but if you want to get that portion of the market, you have to use what people use. Or you'll end up broke, true story brah.

Sometimes you need to make your own start up company, or join a group in need with your talents/skills. The money usually comes when the game is complete. The bigger the game, the longer it will take to make it. If you are looking for money as you work, find an investor and show them your skill set, or past completed projects. Nothing is guarenteed, it depends on how much effort you put into doing the work.

Blujackolantern says:

computer science. Also be very good with C++ and C#. learn DirectX and OpenGL. Also, you should take a class on or show knowledge of 3d linear algebra. also know physics.

Figerized says:

it's more about experience with programming games, my advice would be to learn game programming now, C++ is the industry standard so you will need to learn that cplusplus(dot)com has a good beginners tutorial, after making sure you know c++ well move onto a graphics library like SDL or SFML to get used to 2d/3d programming then move onto DirectX, it's hard to master a language but just stick with it and STUDY, STUDY, STUDY; but having a degree in computer science would be a bonus to employers.
