American soccer fans are celebrating after FIFA announced Wednesday that the U.S. will co-host the 2026 World Cup along with Mexico and Canada. TV host and podcaster Roger Bennett is among the fans rejoicing. He is one of the soccer-obsessed “Men in Blazers” and the co-writer of the new book, “Encyclopedia Blazertannica: A Suboptimal Guide to Soccer, America’s ‘Sport of the Future’ Since 1972.” He is also host of the podcast, “American Fiasco,” which traces the rise and fall of the U.S. national team in the 1990s. Bennett joins “CBS This Morning” to preview the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

OMG. NO! So crappy undeserving teams like Canada and the US who don't give a f*ck about FOOTBALL will get to play in the World Cup finals without kicking a ball in qualification rounds?! The average visiting fan now has to travel across three vast countries in an ENTIRE continent just to see their team compete. Imagine the distances? And the cost of travel and accomodation? HUGE! This is bad for the world's football fans. Disgraceful.

eddie lasowsky says:

It is obvious that this is a panic response to The usa's disastrous WC qualifying campaign. Th country would have turned it's back on the game had FIFA not rigged this.

Francisco Benavidez says:
