Interior Designers are highly creative professionals who possesses the ability to visualize a design conceptually before designing an area. He/she generally have great understanding of materials, furniture, colors, and lightning aspects, that helps create attractive interior spaces. There are Interior Designers who need to work along with architects while a building or a room is under construction. There are designers who works only on completed buildings or rooms.

Educational Qualification required to take up an Interior Designing course :
Students who have passed or about to appear in the qualifying 10+2 Standard (Higher Secondary) exam or equivalent IB/ISC/State Board exams are eligible to take up Interior Designing course. Students are also eligible to apply for Interior Design diploma course, if they have passed their 10th Class qualifying exam. Aspiring candidates can also take up an Interior Designer course after completing their graduation.

Interior Designing Course Fees
There are short-term and long-term Interior Designing courses e.g. 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 year and 3 years. So the Interior Design course fees varies from course to course and institute to institute. On an average the course fees range between INR 25,000 – INR 1,00,000 and above.

Diverse job opportunities exist in front of interior design professionals. They may either choose to work under supervised setup (Design studios and Interior design firms) or work independently. When it comes to Government sector jobs, PWDs, Municipal Corporations and Town Planning Departments are known to hire interior design professionals. They may also become part of Government schemes related to housing and relocation of people.

Payscale of Interior Designers depend on their expertise and experience. The average salary of an Interior Designer ranges between INR 2,50,000 p.a. – INR 6,00,000. On the higher side it can reach up to INR 12,00,000. For highly successful Interior Designers – Sky is the Limit!

With rapidly shrinking residential and commercial space, people are looking for professionals who can make their homes and working space comfortable, beautiful and functional. Demand for Interior designers are growing as people put great emphasis on the design and layout of their living or working space. As per a survey report, employment opportunities for Interior Designers in India are expected to grow up to 19% – 20% by the year 2018.

Reality of Interior Designing in India:
1) Orders
Suppose if we get 4 orders per yr of Rs. 10 lakh, Rs. 5 lakh, Rs. 20 lakh and Rs. 30 lakh
2) Interior designers usually get 5% profit then adding up the total of 5 percents of each order we get Rs. 3,25,000
